Two women, one fabric, no compromise
MAÈ exists because we could not buy the underwear we wanted to wear. Not in Thailand, not anywhere. So we made it, and put our names on it.
We met by accident
Dina ran her own label and asked Aya to model for a shoot. Between takes we got to underwear — neither of us could name a set we actually liked wearing. Dina cares how a thing looks, Aya how it feels. That became the brief.
We were solving it for ourselves
In Thailand almost everything on the shelf is synthetic, and in real humidity synthetic underwear does one thing: it makes you want to take it off the moment you get home. Beautiful or comfortable — always pick one. We wanted the kind you forget you are wearing.
Made here, in small batches
Cut, sewn and packed in Phuket, from fabric sourced in Thailand. Small batches are not a marketing line — it is what two people can actually keep an eye on.
The space we left
There is a Japanese word, ma (間) — the space between, the pause inside movement. Beauty appears when there is room left: for air, for silence, for the person. So no push-up, no wire, no promise to change your body. MAÈ is your first layer, and its job is to disappear.
Dina
Brand, product and production. She decides how a piece looks and how it is made.
Aya
Operations, the shop and getting your order to you. She decides how a piece feels to wear.
